TNC Connector

TNC Connector

TNC connectors (English for Threaded Neill Concelman) are coaxial connectors for frequency ranges up to about 11 GHz. They are essentially the same as BNC connectors, but are connected by a thread instead of a bayonet joint. In contrast to SMA connectors, these connectors are larger and therefore much more stable under tensile loads caused by cables. Nevertheless, the antenna cables should be supported at the connection points to the terminal devices by a strain relief to prevent damage to the terminal devices. The TNC connectors are available in angled or bulkhead form for mounting in enclosures.
